The Culinary Beer House Tour costs €95 per person. Included are: an experienced Kölsch Crew guide for 3 hours, unlimited Kölsch/soft drinks during the entire tour, Cologne tapas (Metthappen or Halver Hahn) at the first beer house, a Cologne delicacy platter (or vegetarian alternative) at Haxenhaus, and visits to 4 beer houses in the Old Town. Not included: other food and drinks, as well as travel to and from the tour.

The Culinary Beer Hall Tour is our premium experience: 3 hours through Cologne’s Old Town with an all-you-can-drink Kölsch, Cologne tapas (Metthappen or Halver Hahn), and as a highlight, the Cologne Specialty Platter at Haxenhaus. The regular public Beer Hall Tour (starting from €19) is a guided tour only, without food and drinks. The Culinary Tour costs €95 per person – all-inclusive.

Kölsch flat rate means: All Kölsch you drink during the entire 3-hour tour is included in the price. There’s no limit and no counting – the Köbes refills as long as you’re thirsty. If you don’t want Kölsch, soft drinks are included.

Yes! For the starter, the Halver Hahn (rye roll with cheese) is vegetarian. For the main course at the Haxenhaus, we offer a vegetarian alternative—please mention it in the notes field when booking. The Cologne “Schmankerl” platter itself is meat-based (pork knuckle, bratwurst, Leberkäse), so we need advance notice.

The Cologne Delicacy Platter is a hearty feast featuring pork knuckle, homemade bratwurst, leberkäse, blood sausage, and traditional Cologne sides. It’s served for the group to share – just as it should be in a real Cologne beer house. The Haxenhaus has been famous for its freshly grilled knuckles for over 25 years and is located right in the Old Town at Frankenwerft.

The Culinary Beer Hall Tour accommodates a maximum of 15 guests. For up to 7 people, you can book spots on our public tour on fixed dates. For groups of 8 or more, a private tour with a flexible start time is automatically booked. Public tours run if there are enough bookings.

Yes, you can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before the tour starts. We offer free rescheduling to another date up to 24 hours before your booked tour, subject to availability. No refunds are given for no-shows without prior cancellation.

Of course! Our public tours are perfect for meeting other travelers and Kölsch fans. The snack platter is shared together—which quickly gets the conversation going at the table. Solo travelers are very welcome with us. The Culinary Beer Hall Tour is offered in German and English—each as a separate tour with its own date. This way, your guide can focus entirely on one language. You can see the available dates directly in the booking calendar.

The meeting point is in front of Früh am Dom in Cologne’s Old Town – just a few minutes’ walk from the main train station and the Cathedral. The tour lasts approx. 3 hours. At the last beer house (Haxenhaus), you can stay after the tour for as long as you like, provided the table doesn’t have a subsequent reservation.

Yes, the tour takes place in almost any weather – we’re inside the beer halls most of the time! The walking distances between stops are short (usually just a few minutes). Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are enough. Only in case of extreme weather will we inform you in advance about a cancellation.

Yes! For groups of 8 or more, the tour is automatically booked as a private tour with a flexible start time. For company events, we also offer our special company tours with additional options (e.g., axe throwing).

Metthappen is seasoned raw minced pork on a bread roll with fresh onions – a typical Cologne delicacy. Halver Hahn (literally: half a rooster) is a rye roll with a thick slice of Dutch cheese, butter, mustard, and onions – despite the name, there’s no chicken involved! Both are classic Cologne beer hall dishes. On the tour, you choose one of the two options.

The historic vaulted cellar beneath the Gilden beer house at Zims is one of the oldest preserved cellars in Cologne’s Old Town. During the tour, we dive into the city’s past here for a special moment – the perfect backdrop for fascinating stories and a great photo. It’s one of the wow moments our guests especially love.
